Alarming Footage Shows Moment Police Are Stabbed in Unexpected Assault

The Two Senior Officers Instants Prior to the Attacker Received Electric Shock

A police sergeant that leaped to the help of a partner who was ambushed by a blade-wielder was granted the Monarch's Honor for Courage.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown following he pressed a blade to the neck of his partner Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the officers and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist subsequent to a traffic accident in the area in July 2023.

Brown knifed and cut both Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a stun gun.

"Policeman attacked," the constable could be heard saying over his radio.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera video released by the police department revealed Brown, wearing in black with a head covered, approach to Sgt Foster from the rear with a weapon outstretched.

He ran into the officer who lost balance and fell to the pavement, before Sergeant Ansell intervened and tried to wrestle him to the floor although being multiple times hit with the weapon.

PC Wolstencroft Stopped the Aggressor, Jacob Brown, with a Stun Gun

PC Wolstencroft drew his Taser and awaited a safe opportunity, ending the confrontation to an end.

Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "Please provide assistance on my neck now, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sergeant Ansell suffered multiple deep cuts to his neck and additional wounds to his limbs and body, whereas Sgt Foster suffered cut injuries.

The department said Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his fellow officer's blood loss prior to paramedics arrived.

This most recent honor arrives subsequent to the three officers were granted departmental Valor Recognitions in fall 2023 and the police federation award from the local officer association in early 2024.

They further earned a Regional Bravery Award in mid-2024.

"The responses of all three officers eventually rescued each other and meant no civilians suffered any harm."

Brown received a sentence to an psychiatric detention in April 2024, according to officials.
